Therapy for a great range of bone fractures
The Ossatec Bone Growth Stimulator is a good therapy for a large number of fractures. Below is a list of fractures that are eligible for treatment with the bone growth stimulator:

  • delayed union or non-union fractures of the long bones
  • delayed union or non-union fractures of carpal and tarsal bones (including the scaphoid)
  • fresh fractures with an increased risk (short treatment duration and avoidance of non-union thanks to bone growth stimulation)
  • avascular necrosis of the femoral head (stop an increase in the breakdown of bone)
  • supportive therapy after surgery of a non-union for an increased chance of healing
  • fractures resulting from osteotomy
  • shin splints, such as tibial stress syndrome

Contraindications
We recommend you discuss therapy with the Ossatec Bone Growth Stimulator with your treating professional in the following situations:

  • you are younger than 18 years of age
  • you have a pacemaker
  • you use an insulin pump
  • you take the medication Marcoumar
  • you suffer from epilepsy
  • you have arrhythmia
  • you are pregnant
  • you use steroids
